We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Website Designer/Manager to lead the design, development, and optimization of web platforms. This role requires deep expertise in Drupal, modern web technologies, and federal web standards. The ideal candidate will oversee end-to-end website development, ensure compliance with accessibility and usability standards, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver high-quality, user-centric digital experiences.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and manage websites using Drupal, including Components and Layout Builder
- Ensure all web content meets Section 508 accessibility standards and usability requirements
- This is Hybrid role
- Apply USWDS guidelines to create consistent, compliant web experiences
- Develop and maintain responsive, user-friendly web interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Create and optimize visual assets using Adobe Creative Cloud
- Manage and track tasks using ServiceNow or equivalent ticketing systems
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective web solutions
- Lead and mentor a small team of developers and designers
- Implement SEO strategies to improve website visibility and performance
- Work closely with federal agencies, academic partners, and industry stakeholders on outreach and digital initiatives
- Incorporate stakeholder feedback and creative direction into final deliverables
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in web design and development
- At least 3 years of experience working within a Drupal environment, including Components and Layout Builder
- Expert-level proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud for web-optimized design
- Familiarity with U.S. Web Design System (USWDS) and designing within its standards
- Experience with ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems
- Strong understanding of Section 508 accessibility compliance
- Knowledge of SEO best practices for website development
- Experience supporting federal agencies or similar organizations (preferred)
- Proven experience leading small web development teams
